INSTRUCTOR, PRODUCER, CURRICULUM DESIGNER

Inspired by the exhibition Reconstructions: Architecture and Blackness in America, MoMA’s online course Reimagining Blackness and Architecture documents the work of the ten architects featured in Reconstructions. Organized around five themes, each week of the course offers an in-depth exploration of two projects commissioned for Reconstructions. These projects serve as jumping-off points to explore the ways Black makers—painters, sculptors, photographers, printmakers, designers, and filmmakers— have shaped the world around us, while also examining the relationship between space and Blackness as an identity and lived experience.

The course includes short readings, videos, audio interviews, quizzes, and prompts for reflection and discussion, each designed to engage learners in critical thinking about their built environments.
